We are happy to be part of the new Tokyo Joe’s – Ideal Market/ Whole Foods Primal cycling team.

We are especially excited because of the support to the local community and youth cycling the partners with this team will provide.

Team partner Sanitas Sports will continue to provide no cost kids and women’s race events with the Ideal Market PRIMAL Boulder Crit Series, and will be starting weekly road ride, mtn bike rides, and trail runs from Ideal Market- Whole Foods stores, and a kids blind and visually impaired spin class all no charge.

The Sanitas House will provide a free Yoga class and a support base for public with maps, tubes, tires, cables, water, fruit at 7th and Maxwell near Sunshine Canyon road climb and Sanitas trail system.

The team has tried to partner and align with positive and health minded sponsors that are based or office in Colorado. We are proud to continue to promote alternative energy with Lighthouse Solar, and a more healthy alternative in nutrition and body work with Tokyo Joe’s, Ideal Market, Bulumu, door to door organics, and North Boulder Chiropractic.

We’ve made it through our first year! Hard to believe that a year ago our product was still in ZipLock baggies with homemade labels. It’s been quite a ride and we are looking forward to a great 2012.  So, to celebrate….

We are pleased to announce Bulumu will be fueling the Yeti Beti Women’s Mountain Bike Team in 2012! Based out of Golden, Colorado, the Yeti Beti’s are 11 women specializing in cross country and endurance mountain bike racing.

In addition to riding bikes, the the Yeti’s Beti’s are passionate ambassadors for active and healthy lifestyles throughout Colorado and  the Rocky Mountain region. The Beti’s are also the force behind the Beti Bike Bash, Colorado’s 1st all women’s mountain bike race.

We are happy to help fuel the passions of this group of healthy and dedicated women.

Our friends at Holstee, producers and curators of awesome environmentally conscious products, sent us this photo of them devouring our granola in their Brooklyn, NY office. 

Like us, these folks also love bikes and believe in the power of cycling for health, for transportation, for environment (note the bikes in the background).

We are really excited to be part of this year’s Adventure Film Festival in Boulder.

The event is different from most other film festivals, especially in the way that those who attend the festival often leave feeling empowered and inspired. It’s not about the deepest powder snow or the most exposed first ascents – it’s about the journey, the process, and most importantly - it’s about soul.

When starting Bulumu less than a year ago, our goal was to create a company that would inspire and educate through creating products that promote healthy and active lifestyles, while also being a steward of our community and be as environmentally conscious as possible in our practices. Lofty goals, but they are our soul.

Those goals have not changed, and while there are certainly things we can continue to improve upon, we are happy with the progress we’ve made by staying true to our original intention.

The reality is that the world doesn’t need more of anything, the world needs better everything.

Adventure Film reminds us of that every year.

Want to go to the Boulder Adventure Film Festival? How about a FULL Festival Pass – for FREE?

In the spirit of “Making Your Own Legends”, we’re giving away a full weekend pass (good for all film screenings and after parties) and a bag of our granola.

Here’s how:

1. Like Bulumu on facebook.
2. Post your best adventure photo to our facebook page
3. Have your friends, family, climbing/ riding/ skiing (etc.) buddies “like” your photo.
4. The photo with the most “likes” wins*. Yep, that’s pretty easy.

* If no one “likes” the posted photos, than we’ll just pick our favorite, but that’s kinda boring, so get your peeps involved!

What we’re looking for:

• Photographic styles may vary but should focus around outdoor adventure, adventure travel, environmentalism, outdoor sports and lifestyle shots.

We’re gonna leave this open until Thursday 11/3 at 5pm. We’ll contact the winner about where to pick up the pass at that time.

My kids were fighting over the bulumu bag at the pool. It’s a good thing the bag is strong, I was finally able to get them to sit and share the granolas. Thanks Bulumu for having such a great helthy snack that kids fight over!

Pro Triathlete, Michael Lovato, recently sported a Bulumu T-shirt on his “Cribs” video from a recent trip to Portland, Oregon for a race.

“Sadly, the Portland Whole Foods doesn’t have Bulumu and we forgot to bring some from home”, said Lovato in response to not having the goods in his cabinet. No worries Michael, we forgive you.
